To promote public awareness, the DIP, assisted by WIPO, organises national seminars and workshops on Intellectual Property Rights. These events are designed to provide the public and private sectors with an understanding of the importance of Intellectual Property protection in the economic and social development of the country.

The message is basically that IP :
  • encourages invention and scientific research within the country
  • creates ripe conditions for technology transfer
  • attracts foreign investment
  • enhances domestic and foreign trade
  • fights against illegal business activities
  • protects consumers
