DIP staff receive regular training and knowledge updates in the field of Intellectual Property through the assistance of WIPO, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and other countries.

The Department tries to extend this service to the private sector, by inviting companies, factories, and local trademark and patent agents to these seminars, as well as supporting foreign training assignments for private sector representatives.

The DIP sends its staff to give lectures and presentations on Intellectual Property at enforcement agencies and educational institutions such as the Faculty of Law, the Police Academy, the National University of Laos etc.
