Current:

The Lao PDR has signed a co-operation project with WIPO that covers issues such as:

• Drafting and modernising IPP legislation
• Personnel training
• Improving information and administration systems

WIPO's contribution is playing a vital role in the establishment of an intellectual property system in the Lao PDR

The country is joining the ASEAN Trademark and Patent Common Filing System and is actively participating in ASEAN Co-operation on Intellectual Property

DISM has established close relations with its colleagues in Japan, particularly at JPO, JCO and JIII.

The Japanese Government has been assisting DISM in the field of human development and also sends regular Advisory Missions to the Lao PDR under the Japan-in-Trust arrangement.
